Lousy world

mypajama.com is all about storytelling. Stories and essays are published at an alarmingly infrequent rate. Subscribe with RSS or via email.

I’ve got lice in my head (that’s part of the myth). Suppose its an advanced and evolved civilisation of parasites. There must be intellectual lice who warn their folk of the ill effects of sucking too much blood off me. They tell them that if I die, they all die.

And there are the evil corporate lice. They work at advancing a head-wide empire of commerce. They make products from my blood and market it all over their world.

Occasionally, a visiting louse from someone else’s head (transport made possible by my head being in close contact with someone else’s head for considerable periods of time) would come and share tales of host-friendly initiatives that their people have taken.

There might be philosopher lice who wonder about the future of their world. What can a louse do? Does it matter? What happens after a louse dies? Who put them on my head? What is the purpose of their lousy lives?

Somebody make a story out of this and let me know. I will be happy to write the preface to the book.
