On Samit’s second

This is not a review of The Manticore’s Secret. Here… take a spoiler warning in any case. I can imagine Samit Basu sitting in his dark tower and doing his thing (bwahaha or mwahaha as his mood demands). The book was good. I am sincere in my appreciation. As sequels go, I never expect much from continuing tales, but TMS was good.

But curse the author for almost killing me in the end. Still no Maya !!??

I think I will hire someone to stay up at nights and curse Samit Basu so he gives the poor Dark Lord what he wants… at least in the next book, before he turns into a complete zoo (I suspect he will be part rakshas, part human, part ravian, part giraffe, part dragon, part bunny rabbit, part Koli salesman… by the time the GameWorld ends.

I liked what the Gorilla Vanars did to the Ravian though!

  1. meh… that bit of the ending was fine, the thing with asvin though?

hardly a complete zoo though… he’s only a tripartite arrangement so far!

but hell yeah, it was a fun read. one of the few cases when the sequel was readable…

  2. I actually disliked the first part. haven’t read the 2nd one yet.
